I chose this design example because I like how it is a very unified design, everything is balanced and fits well together. I especially like the use of negative space to give the illusion of a spoon fit into the design.

The typography of the art contributes to its meaning by informing the viewer about what dude soup is in a satisfying way. The typography follows and breaks the rules. It follows the rules by presenting simple text that is easy to read. It breaks the rules by allowing the lettering to shift into the negative space as well as forming the shape of the spoon inside the words with negative space. The craft is very important in this design. The focal point is the spoon, the design around cutting out the letters to make the spoon is the most interesting part of the piece.
